William Samoei Ruto Declared New President of Kenya.

IEBC chairman Wafula has declared William Samoei Ruto as the winner of the presidential seat and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua as the new deputy president

William Samoei Ruto was contesting on a UDA party ticket where he garnered 7,176,141 votes representing 50.49% of the total votes cast and he achieved the minimum number of 39 counties at 25%.

IEBC chairman has issued the presidential certificate to William Ruto as the fifth president of Kenya.

His main rival Raila Odinga garnered 6,942930 votes

Hon William Ruto has thanked Kenyans and his supporters for voting for him and assured he will work together with them in unity to better the lives of Kenyans.

William Ruto has served as Kenya’s deputy president since 2013 ,when he was elected as president Uhuru Kenyatta’s running mate.

In October 2014, he served as acting President when Mr Kenyatta briefly relinquished power to attend to his criminal case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands. .

In 2022 he decided to vie for a presidential seat and he emerged as the winner with 7,176,141 votes
