<\/figure>\n\n\nIn a statement released on Saturday, Dr. David Gikungu, the director of Kenya Meteorological Services, stated that on Sunday, there would be significant rainfall over the Lake Victoria Basin, the Southeast Lowlands, the South Coast, and the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, which includes the Nairobi region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the department stated that from Sunday through Thursday of next week, the amount of rainfall along the Coast will increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The counties which set to be affected include; Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, Migori, Busia, Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, and Nyandarua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others are; Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, Nairobi, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Taita-Taveta, Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, Marsabit, Garissa, and Isiolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Gikungu hence cautioned residents of the said counties to be wary of potential floods, and reduced visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further advised residents to avoid driving through or walking in moving water or open fields and not shelter under trees and near grilled windows due to lighting strikes exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cResidents in all the mentioned areas are advised to be on the lookout for potential floods, flash floods, and reduced visibility. Flood waters may appear in places where it has not rained heavily, especially downstream,\u201d said Dr. Gikungu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
