The ugly scenes inside the chambers compelled the sergeants at arms to intervene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The irate MCAs forced their way through the barrier threatening to paralysis Kisii County Assembly operations. Others walked out of the chamber protesting the move to save Ndemo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He survived after 43 MCAs voted against the impeachment motion while 23 voted to have him removed from office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The impeachment move was defeated after the mover of the motion failed to marshal enough support. <\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"730\" height=\"436\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cradior.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fight.png\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Ward representatives instituted an impeachment motion against Ndemo citing gross misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the charges that had been levelled against him included alleged misuse of his powers where he allegedly asked an enforcement officer to escort him home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They further argued that Ndemo had purported to represent the governor on the establishment of the County Industrial Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cNdemo purported to have  been appointed by the Governor to the implementation committee for the establishment of Kisii Industrial Park while knowing the same [is] untrue and spearheading the project without authorization by the Governor,\u201d one of the MCAs stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MCA further indicated that Ndemo\u2019s conduct violated provisions of the Leadership and Integrity Act<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A section of Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from Kisii County have engaged in a fist fight after an impeachment motion against county administration executive member Alfred Ndemo.
