Most cases are mild but it can kill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, Kenya&#8217;s health ministry said high population movement among East African neighbours poses a &#8220;significant risk for regional transmission&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cradior.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20113132_0-0-958-540.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It advised Kenyans to be vigilant and wash hands often in order to reduce risk of infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If you have symptoms, seek health advice and avoid close contact with other persons and visit the nearest health facility for management,&#8221; it urged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The authorities said efforts were underway to contain the outbreak and prevent further spread of the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The virus is endemic to the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as forested areas in East Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kenya has confirmed its first case of Mpox, the Ministry of Health said.
