<\/figure>\n\n\nHe is accused of failing to provide for the upkeep of the children he sired with his estranged wife Gladys Jeruto Tagi. Prior to his arrest, Kibet has allegedly been on the run for months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During today\u2019s court session, Tagi \u2014 through her lawyer Elizabeth Wangari \u2014 prayed to the court to commit Kibet to civil imprisonment for defying court summons too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe warrant of arrest related to disobedience of the lawful decree was issued by this court on June 2, 2022. To date, there is no compliance with the said decree,\u201d Wangari argued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court also heard that Kibet did not cater for the children\u2019s enrollment at Mustard Seed International School, an action that not only disrupted their education but also \u201csubjected them to mental anguish.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kibet\u2019s lawyer, however, pleaded with the court to grant him more time as he is currently facing financial challenges, a situation that has been exacerbated by the ongoing succession disputes concerning her late father Jonathan Toroitich\u2019s estate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
