This arrest comes barely a month after Kebaso claimed that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is pursuing him due to his activism against government corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview on August 26, 2024, he reported feeling unsafe, particularly when offline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy family is scared to death, especially when I seek out these fake projects and they realise I\u2019ve turned off my phone or am not answering their calls,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kebaso recounted an incident during the Nane Nane protests where he evaded arrest by using CCTV footage to identify a suspicious vehicle outside his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He described how he escaped by hiding in a neighbor\u2019s car after climbing over a wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI woke up, checked the CCTV, and noticed a double-cabin car parked at the gate. The number plate wasn\u2019t registered on NTSA, so I left it there, climbed the wall, and went to my neighbour\u2019s place. I hid in his car\u2019s boot, and he took me with him. That\u2019s how I attended the Nane Nane demos. I\u2019m certain they are following me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kebaso also detailed the DCI\u2019s tracking methods, alleging they utilize triangulation to pinpoint suspects\u2019 locations through phone calls and texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
