The attack took place on Tuesday when the when the commissioner of Boma County and his team in Pibor were returning from a village of visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The commissioner and his team visited Nyat village and upon their return they were ambushed resulting to death of 15 individuals including the commissioner,”said Abraham Kelang,the information minister of Greater Pibor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kelang stated that the assailants are suspected to be youths from Anyuak community in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite,the peace treaty signed in 2018,clashes have been rampant among various armed groups leading to civilian casualties and displacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Greater Pibor Administrative area remains the most affected with the clashes and attacks<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Boma County is inhabited by the Murle ethnic group it therefore frequently experiences violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attacks are mostly from Murle,Anyuak, Dinka or Nuer communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
