{"id":648,"date":"2024-03-25T19:27:20","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T19:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cradior.com\/?p=648"},"modified":"2024-03-25T19:27:24","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T19:27:24","slug":"nairobi-records-heavy-rainfall-as-rainy-season-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cradior.com\/?p=648","title":{"rendered":"Nairobi Records  Heavy Rainfall as Rainy Season Begins."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The meteorological authority has officially announced the start of  the long rainy season which is predicted to last until first few weeks of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result , farmers all throughout the nation have been instructed to begin planting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected the rains which started over the weekend, would get heavier,with April being the heaviest month.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1120\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cradior.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/nAIROBI-og_image.webp\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The long-awaited onset of the long rains is finally here, at least in the city and its environs,&#8221; remarks Dr. David Gikungu, Director of KMD<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0&#8220;Heavy rains started pounding Nairobi over the weekend, and this is just the beginning of the anticipated long rainy season&#8221;   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Highest amount of rainfall  was recorded in Nairobi,&#8221; Dr Gikungu said <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr.Gikungu said that heavy rainfall are expected over many parts of the country in coming weeks and months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>124.2, 123.4, and 103.6 mm of rainfall were recorded at the Dagoretti, Wilson, and Moi Air Base meteorological stations<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The meteorological authority has officially announced the start of the long rainy season which is predicted to last until first few weeks of June.
