A student was among three people who were killed on Thursday in a grisly road accident involving a private vehicle and a motorcycle at Nyalkini Center along the Homa Bay-Kendu Road.

The secondary school student, who was riding the motorcycle, died on the spot while his two pillion passengers passed away while receiving treatment at the Homa Bay Referral Hospital.

Confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Police Commander Hassan Barua, confirmed the incident, and said that the deceased student attempted to overtake a car on his lane when he collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle.

Barua, while noting that the private vehicle’s occupants escaped unscathed, urged motorists to remain vigilant on roads.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Homa Bay Referral mortuary pending postmortem.
