A section of the Nairobi-Garissa (A3) Road has been closed by the Kenya National Highways Authority(KENHA) because of floods in the Mororo area between Madogo and Tana River Bridge.
The continuous downpour that is battering many areas of the nation has been blamed for the flooding.

“The increased water has prompted an advisory that the Seven Folks Dams are rapidly filling to near full capacity,” KeNHA said in a Monday statement posted on X.
“The flooding at Mororo has compromised one lane of the road. This poses high safety risk to the road users.”
KeNHA, which urged motorists to seek alternative routes, said the road would remain closed until the waters receded and the damage to the section was repaired.
“The Authoriry staff are on site ready to deal with the washout immediately the waters subside. We urge motorists to exercise caution and avoid driving in floodwaters.” said KeNHA.
