Mikel Merino’s goal gives Spain a 2-1 victory over hosts Germany in Extra Time of the quarterfinal of Euro 2024 at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart on Friday.
After an absorbing first half, Dani Olmo for Spain opened the scoring after half-time and Wirtz for Germany late in the second half to bring back the game on level terms.
With the win, Spain remains unbeaten in the tournament in five games and qualifies for the semifinals of the tournament where they will face either France or Portugal who will face off each other tonight.
