Kenya:Fire Breaks out in A Plot in Nyahururu Leading to Death of Two Children

Posted on July 7, 2024July 7, 2024 By Naomy Mbaka No Comments on Kenya:Fire Breaks out in A Plot in Nyahururu Leading to Death of Two Children

Fire broke out in a plot of five houses in Kiamaina village, on the outskirts of Nyahururu town in the Laikipia West Constituency leading to death of two children aged two and four years.

According to sources, the fire broke out when the two were in their home and their mother, Ms. Susan Muthoni, was preparing lunch for her family.

They were burned beyond recognition on Sunday.

The cause of the fire was not known however, the neighbours reported that it began in one of the houses where the two children were and spread quickly to the other houses.

Roobert Maina and other residents said that efforts put off the fire in an attempt to save the two children were futile.

They also complained that Nyahururu firefighters took too long to respond to their distress calls.

The angry residents accused the county firefighter of taking too long to respond, arriving hours after the fire had been extinguished.
