The Finance Bill 2024 has sailed through the Committee of the Whole House stage where MPs were voting on the amendments to the Bill, now moving to the Third Reading.


This comes after 195 Members of Parliament voted to pass the Bill with 106 voting to oppose the financial bill.

There were three spoilt votes.


“The results of the division are as follows: yes 195, No, 106, spoilt 3. The ayes have it,” Speaker Wetangula said.

The Azimio Opposition coalition MPs began chanting in protest after the announcement before walking out.
