Kenyan athlete Beatrice Chebet won the women’s 5,000 meters final in the Paris 2024 Olympics on Monday.

Chebet, 24, scored her country’s first gold medal in Paris 2024 in the women’s 5,000-meter final with a time of 14 minutes and 28.56 seconds.

Second-place Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands bagged a silver and third-place Nadia Battocletti from Italy claimed a bronze.

But Faith Kipyegon, also representing Kenya, was disqualified for pushing Ethiopian athlete Gudaf Tsegay in the race

Keely Hodgkinson women’s 800m champion

Keely Hodgkinson won the gold medal for Great Britain in the women’s 800-meter finals with a time of one minute and 56.72 seconds.

Ethiopia’s Tsige Duguma claimed the silver medal with a time of 1:57.15, and Kenya’s Mary Moraa took the bronze with 1:57.42
