Seven Family Members Arrested after Caught on Video Beating Muslim Girl for Attending Church Prayers.

Posted on April 24, 2024April 24, 2024 By Naomy Mbaka No Comments on Seven Family Members Arrested after Caught on Video Beating Muslim Girl for Attending Church Prayers.

Seven Muslim family members have been taken into custody by authorities in eastern Uganda on charges of attacking an 18-year-old girl who allegedly attended a church service.

Police allegations claim that the girl’s uncle gave her 100 caning lashes while five other relatives held her down during the event.

Ugandans strongly condemned the incident after seeing the upsetting video post extensively on social media.

The family has been placed under arrest until additional inquiries are conducted, including the primary guardian aunt.

Acting regional police spokesperson Samuel Semewo stressed that the family members in question might be charged with assault or torture.

Following the alleged assault, he reported that the girl was “slowly recovering pending medical examinations”.

A local representative of the national Muslim governing body denounced the incident as “barbaric and inhumane,” emphasizing that such actions do not align with the principles of Islam.

Despite the ongoing investigation, the family is yet to issue a statement regarding the allegations.
