Mother Suspected of Killing her Two-Year-Old Baby in Homa Bay

Police  in Homa Bay have arrested a 28- year-old woman who is accused of killing her two-week-old infant in Kadel area in Rachuonyo North Sub-county.

The mother of three is said to have killed the baby boy in her house before she took the body and dumped it in a maize plantation.

According to Rachuonyo North Sub County Police Commander Lydia Parteiyie, the mother was seen by members of the public getting into a maize plantation carrying a child and minutes later she came out without the child which prompted members of the public to intervene.

Upon interrogation, the woman first declined to reveal where she had taken the baby. She then led neighbours to a maize plantation where she dumped the baby after killing him.

Lydia says the woman was immediately arrested and handed over to officers at Kadel police post before she was transferred to Kendu Bay Police station where she’s being detained awaiting to be arraigned.

The police are yet to establish what could have prompted the woman to kill her fourth-born child but investigation is underway.

The infant’s body was taken to Kendu Adventist Hospital Mortuary.
