Posted on May 18, 2024May 18, 2024 By Naomy Mbaka No Comments on Kenya Railways Announces Nairobi-Ruiru Commuter Train to Resume Operations on Monday.

Kenya Railways has announced that the Nairobi-Ruiru commuter train service will resume operations on the route from Monday, May 20, 2024.

In a statement on Friday, May 17, 2024, Kenya Railways confirmed that the train will resume normal schedule, where the first train leaves the Ruiru station at 6:00 am and arrives at Nairobi Central station at 7:30 am.

This announcement comes as a relief to many who have been eagerly anticipating the return of the vital commuter link.

Residents of Kahawa West who commute by the 9:00 am train, have been left out of the new update, the Kenya Railways cited that the commuter train remains suspended until further notice.

“In line with the normal schedule, the train will depart Ruiru station at 6:00 am and arrive at Nairobi Central station at 7:30 am. However, the Kahawa train that departs at 9:00 am from Kahawa West, remains suspended until further notice,” the corporation said.
