Police in Cornwall have launched two separate murder investigations after two bodies were discovered less than 10 miles apart. Although the discoveries happened days apart, detectives have confirmed that the cases are not linked.
The first body was found in Paramoor Woods near Sticker during the ongoing search for 43-year-old Daniel Coleman, who was reported missing in June. Police have since confirmed the remains belong to Coleman. A man named James Desborough, 39, has been charged with murder and is set to appear at Truro Crown Court on August 8.
Just days later, a second body was discovered in woodland between Truro and Probus. This launched a completely separate murder investigation. Police have stated clearly that this second case has no connection to the Daniel Coleman investigation.
Devon and Cornwall Police Commissioner Alison Hernandez issued a public apology after initially suggesting there were multiple bodies found at the Sticker scene. Police have since clarified that only Coleman’s body was discovered in that case.
In a third development, authorities are also investigating a fatal fire in Newquay on July 22, where a man in his 30s died. One person has been arrested on suspicion of murder in that separate case.
🔎 Police Investigations Continue
Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft urged the public to avoid speculation and allow the investigations to proceed. He confirmed that all three cases are independent and ongoing.
