Please Find it in Your Heart to Forgive Me-Dp Gachagua Apologizes to Ruto

Posted on October 6, 2024October 6, 2024 By Naomy Mbaka No Comments on Please Find it in Your Heart to Forgive Me-Dp Gachagua Apologizes to Ruto

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked President William Ruto and members of parliament to forgive him for anything he did that they deem wrong.

Speaking at a Church service held at the National Prayer Altar, domiciled at his official Karen residence, on Sunday said his intention has never been to disappoint anyone.

The DP also used his address to seek forgiveness for his spouse Pastor Dorcas Gachagua.

“To my brother President William Ruto, If in our zeal and commitment to work I have wronged you, please find it in your heart to forgive me. If my spouse Pastor Dorcas in her duties for the boy child has wronged you in any way, find it in your heart to forgive her,” Gachagua said

The DP also passed the same message to MPs in which he sought their forgiveness in the event they were harangued by his remarks or actions.

“To our members of Parliament, if in the course of duty, through our utterances and actions we have in one way or another upset you, or wronged you, find it in your heart to forgive me,” he said.

The appeal came ahead of the debate on the impeachment motion against him at the National Assembly.

The motion was filed by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse.

The DP is expected to appear before MPs to state his case after which they will vote on whether to remove him from office or not.

If impeached, the verdict will be sent to the Senate which will conduct a trial on the charges levelled against him.

The Senators will give both parties a chance to argue their case after which they will vote on whether to impeach or save him.

If impeached, the DP will cease to hold office.

He, however, has a chance to challenge the verdict in court which may stay the decision or uphold the impeachment.
