Posted on April 7, 2024April 7, 2024 By Naomy Mbaka No Comments on Three Family Members Electrocuted to Death in Homa Bay County,Kenya.

Three members of a family were electrocuted to death at their home on Saturday evening in Nyatwere village in Homa Bay County.

Two brothers named as Elijah Otieno and Isaiah Otieno together with their sister-in-law Laventer Otieno died instantly as a result of electrocution.

Chief of Kachien North Location Jacob Adienge said that Laventer was electrocuted first when she went to remove her clothes from a metallic wire she used for drying clothes.

The hangingline was in contact with the iron sheet from her house, which seemed to have a flowing current as a result of poor power connection.

According to reports the woman was struck immediately she touched the metallic clothesline and screamed for help before she died on the spot.

The two brothers who were around during the incident rushed to save Laventer but unfortunately, they were also electrocuted and died on the spot when they got in touch with their sister -in law whose body was still stuck on the clothesline.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the power was connected at Laventer house by someone from the village who had no idea and knowledge in dealing with electricity.

The bodies were taken to Rachuonyo South Sub County Hospital mortuary.
