Posted on September 29, 2024September 29, 2024 By Naomy Mbaka No Comments on Transformer Explodes Along Ronald Ngala Street in Nairobi CBD

A transformer exploded in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) along Ronald Ngala Street opposite Posta causing an inferno.

The incident occurred on Sunday around 6:00 pm.

Video clips going viral showed a huge fire engulfing the ground floor of a three-storey commercial building adjacent to the transformer.

Traders were forced to flee for their lives as the transformer burst into flames. The commotion caused a traffic snarl-up.

Eyewitnesses said that the transformer blew off immediately after heavy rains began pounding thereby affecting traffic along the busy street.

It was not clear whether there were casualties.

Curious residents and businesspeople were pictured watching the fire oblivious to the dangers it posed.
