Kenya:A Man Kills his Cousin in Bomet County

A 29-year-old man has killed his cousin in Cheptingting village, Bomet County after a heated argument.


According to Konoin sub-county police boss David Kandie, the suspect, Leonard Rono dashed into his cousin’s house, and hit him with a Rungu on the head.

Mathew Korir,the deceased who was 27-years-old died on the spot, as his wife Beatrice Chemutai watched in disbelief.


The suspect is alleged to have had an argument with the deceased over an unknown issue before he decided to kill him despite his wife pleading for mercy as they sorted out their issue.

The wife of the deceased raised an alarm, attracting members of the public.

A mob descended on him before he was rescued by the Nyumba Kumi officer and was taken for medication at Cheptalal Health Center.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kapkatet mortuary hospital while the suspect is under police custody.
