Kenya:10 Dead after Trailer Rams Matatu in Mai Mahiu.

Ten people have succumbed and two others sustained serious injuries in an accident after a trailer rammed matatu in Mai Mahiu town.

According to eye witnesses, the lorry lost its brakes just a few metres from the town and rammed a MUNA Sacco matatu from behind.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Kirui confirmed the incident saying nine people died on spot while one succumbed on the way to Kijabe hospital.


The lorry was coming from Nairobi heading Mai Mahiu town and was ferried with constructuion materials.

Police officers rushed to the scene of the incident to clear the remains of the crash which occurred less than a kilometre from Mai Mahiu Police station.

Four other vehicles that were parked by the road were damaged in the accident and were towed to the station.
