The national soccer team Harambee Stars drew 0-0 with Ivory Coast in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier played on Tuesday at Bingu National Stadium,Lilongwe,Malawi.

Kenya was seeking to bounce back from their disappointing 1-1 draw against Burundi in their previous qualifier and faced Ivory Coast unfazed by the reigning Africa Champions perfect run thus far.

Ivory Coast is yet to concede a goal in the group and remains unbeaten in four matches played in the qualifiers.

Kenya narrowly missed out on grabbing all the three points but missed several goalscoring chances created especially in the final fifteen minutes of the encounter.

Timothy Ouma had a clear chance to hand Kenya the lead in the 74th minute but failed to beat Ivory Coast goalkeeper Yahya Fofana.

The introduction of Duke Abuya with 10 minutes to go brought the much needed impetus with Kenya creating a host of chances that went begging.

Ivory Coast whose coach Emmerse Fae had made three changes to his squad that beat Gabon 1-0 in their previous encounter piled pressure in the closing stages of the match but the Kenya backline marshalled by debutant and 21 year old Alphonce Omija,Johnstone Omurwa,Daniel ASnyembe and Abiud Omar stood tall.

The draw leaves Kenya in third position on five points while Ivory Coast leads the group with 10 points from four matches.

Burundi are set to play whipping boys Seychelles tonight and could go second if they get a win.The
