A 22-year-old woman in Kisii County who allegedly stabbed her husband to death over domestic wrangles has been arrested.

The suspect Sheilla Nyanckoka Ombati is said to have stabbed her husband Wesley Aringa Okindo, 28, using a kitchen knife at their home in Bonyakakomi village.

According to a police reports,Okindo who works as a matatu tout arrived home on Thursday night and engaged in a scuffle with Ombati, before she picked a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the chest.


“The deceased opened the door and went outside where he fell down a few metres from their rental house and died,” read the police report.

Officers attached to Ibeno Police Station and the Kisii Central DCI have since visited and processed the crime scene.

They recovered the murder weapon which had blood stains and arrested the suspect.

The deceased’s body was moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting post-mortem.
