Kenya: Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla is Dead.

The Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla is dead after a chopper he was travelling in alongside with other officials crashed in Kaben,Marakwer East on Thursday.

On April 28,2023 he was named Chief of Defence Forces taking over from his predecessor General Robert Kibochi.

Kibochi handed over to Ogolla as CDF after attaining the mandatory exit age of 62.

The chopper had 12 people onboard including officers of the rank of General when it crashed.

According to witnesses,the chopper burst into flames on crashing.

Among the 12 only one person was able to survive who is believed to be a photographer.

The area was cordoned off soon after the accident.

The officers were surveying the area ahead of the planned deployment of more troops to battle cattle rustlers in the area.
