Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja Reshuffles Cabinet

This evening, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja announced a significant reshuffle of his cabinet in a statement sent to the newsroom.

The reshuffle aims to realign key personnel to drive forward the county’s development agenda and improve service delivery to Nairobi residents.

The reassigned County Executive Committee (CEC) members include:

Stephen Gathuita Mwangi: Moved from Built Environment and Urban Planning to Boroughs Administration and Personnel.


Patrick Mbogo: Transitioned from Borough Administration and Personnel to Built Environment and Urban Planning.


Brian Mulama: Shifted from Mobility and Works to Talents, Skills Development, and Care.


Ibrahim Auna Nyangoya: Reassigned from Green Nairobi to Business and Hustler Opportunities.


Rosemary Kriuki: Moved from Talent, Skills Development, and Care to Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Care.


Changes have also been made to the chief officers:

Geoffrey Mosiria: Transferred from Health Facilities to the Environmental Department.


Tiras Njoroge: Moved from Smart Nairobi to Revenue Administration and Acting ICT Infrastructure.


Boniface Nyamu: Shifted from Mobility to Business and Hustler Opportunities.


Godfrey Akumali: Reassigned from Cooperatives to Social Services.


Zipporah Mwangi: Moved from Business and Hustler Opportunities to Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service.


Dr. Machel Waikenda: Transferred from Economic Planning to Mobility.


George Mutiso: Shifted from Social Services to Cooperatives.


Hibrahim Otieno: Moved from the Environment Department to Health Facilities.


John Lintari: Transitioned from ICT Infrastructure to Economic Planning.


Lydia Mathia: Reassigned from Public Participation, Citizen Engagement to Housing and Urban Renewal.


Wilson Gakuya: Moved from Revenue Administration to Smart Nairobi.


In addition, Mr. Godfrey Akumali has been appointed Acting County Secretary, while Mr. Patrick Analo Akivaga will continue in his substantive role as Chief Officer of Urban Planning and Development.
